Visitors to Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show may have noticed significant changes over the years to the iconic Dairy Innovation Centre.

Gone are the robotic milking systems, replaced by many new companies that showcase the latest in dairy technology and management. The building has undergone significant renovation and will feature new penning and livestock handling areas.
“The dairy barn has been getting a whole revamp,” says Brayden Bell, field manager with the show. “A lot of things have been ripped out and switched up.”
However, Bell says the innovations will create the “same hype, the same buzz with new and innovative practices. It should be pretty exciting.”
EastGen will showcase its genomics program by challenging farmers to decide between four heifers with their available genomics tests. EastGen will also talk about the ability to breed cows that produce less methane, lowering their environmental impact, and cows that are more resistant to disease.
Numerous other companies in the Dairy Innovation Centre will feature flooring and penning, feed mixing and calf feeding.
Uddermatic will host twice-daily automated calf feeding demonstrations. As well, Farmtario has a new DairyPlus publication in the Innovation Centre.
There will again be numerous dairy exhibitors outside the centre, in the Grober Pavilion next door and in the TD Pavilion.
